Having a SUPER SECRET SURPRISE 40 & FABULOUS BIRTHDAY party for Julie!

Easy to sew lanyards! 

I purchased lightweight webbing and sewed satin ribbon (Michael's house brand) onto it with threads of hot pink on the spool and black on the bobbin.  I over lapped the ends and sewed them onto a split ring then ran stitching over the ends.  To seal them I used a small lighter and melted the edges.  

I used one yard for each lanyard.  Bought 25 yards off Amazon for less than $10.00 including taxes and shipping.  Ribbon was on 5 yard spools and honestly, I don't remember how much...I just know it was on sale and I had a coupon. 

Using digital software I made the VIP passes then cut and laminated them with the Purple Cow laminator.  LOVE that thing!! Makes me want to laminate everything!!  The clips came from Staples.  A bag of 10 was $2.50! Used a ribbon slot punch at the top to put the clip through.  My split rings were a little too thick to flip  and have the clip attach to it securely.

The letters were purchased through Etsy from Artsy Chaos.  Love her store - too cute!! 

The plan is to put one letter on each table as it's centerpiece.  I'm sure Julie and her friends will have a great time going to each table to see any photos of themselves with her!

Snow Friends

I attended a craft show and picked up a few little things for gifts for two boys that I don't get to see often but will have time with them this Christmas!  Hooray for kids!! BIG, small, love them all!  SO - one of my coworkers is a digital wizard and found this adorable face to print onto cardstock that would wrap around popcorn bags.  Actually she made over 50 for her daughters' classmates.  I cut hats from one of the snow men accessories from Paper Doll Dress Up.

I was so excited when I saw how cute these came out I thought I would do the same but instead of the paper hat (I only have two boys to do this for) I'd find the magic gloves that "fit most" instead.  They always look so cute!  And I would just wrap the crayons and gift card into a small pack and wrap THAT with this....then...I remembered that the Easter cart has a pillow pack cut!

So a Cricut, a (Cuttle) Bug, some Pig<ment> markers, buttons and bows:

The cardstock is a pearl white and the flash kept shining off the paper so I did take another photo without the flash so that the faces and embossing could be seen a little easier.

Just an FYI - these were cut at 8 1/2".

Save the Date

I mounted a photo onto a birchwood block that I had pre-painted black.  I decoupaged over the photo, sanded the edges, inked the edges and added some embellishment.

 I looked up "Wedding" in the dictionary and scanned the page with the meaning on it.  I used that as the background for the reverse.  Used a digital editing program to add the text.
